Internal plastering have been completed and the third rooms done. The external walls are also plastered. Now it is only left with the doors and Naco windows and we expect the whole job to be completed within 1 week.

1st Choir Practise for Wesak Day celebration to be held in Puttarparthi

Today 5 of us attended the 1st Choir Practise held in Seputih Bhajan Unit.. more will attend in the next session which will be held every Sunday.

Talk on Diabetes, Hypertension & Cholesterol in Tangkak @ 7th March 2010

A brief report and some pictures on the Health Awareness Seminar
conducted by Bro. Dr. Hitendra K. Doshi at the Tangkak Indian
Association, Tangkak, on 07-03-2010.

Bro. Dr. Hitendra conducted a very inspiring talk in Bahasa Malaysia
at the above seminar to a crowd of about 60 people. His genuine
concern for people to become aware and take good care of their own
health was very much felt throughout his talk.

He stressed strongly on how prevention must overtake cure and educated
the people on how to prevent three of the killer diseases which was,
diabetes, hypertension and the management of high cholesterol. He
described to them the serious consequences of these illnesses if left
unchecked.

He made graphic power-point presentations of patients whose limbs and
eyesight suffered the consequences of diabetes and this definitely had
an impact on the audience. He also highlighted on the sufferings of
patients who were on dialysis and also of those who had suffered
stroke and heart diseases.

He then made power-point presentations of patients giving their own
testimonies. This gave the audience a ‘first-hand account’ of the sad
and serious consequences that could similarly befall them if they do
not motivate themselves to seek medical checkups soon.

Dr. Hitendra concluded his talk by telling the people the importance
of spirituality to our health and of how the practice of good human
values has an effect in helping us lead a healthier life.

There was a short Question & Answer session and the seminar ended at
around 12:15 p.m.

1st Visit - 19-1-2010

Meeting Agenda : Contractor Mr Tata propose for a 20 x 30ft asli house with 3 bed room, 1 kitchen and 1 toilet, estimated contract cost is 5 thousand. Tangkak Bhajan Unit to source for used building Materials.


2nd Visit - 26-1-2010

Attendance : Bro Albert, Bro, Wan, Bro Ah Bok, Bro Lim Choon & son, Bro Tommy, Bro Ong, Bro Camon

1. Negotiate with contractor Mr Tata and agreed wages reduce to RM4 thousand and construction period to be completed in 1 1/2 month.
2. Finalise the housing spec and materials needed
3. Agreed the term and plan to start building in early February 2010
4. Payment by progressive or after completion of construction
(Bro Hamish via telephone conversation have volunteered to bear for wages cost and Tangkak Bhajan Unit would be responsible for all the materials cost. )

3rd Visit - 4-2-2010

Attendance : Bro Camon, Bro Lim, Bro Eu,

- Site visit to view project progress
- Order Sand and granite immediately from Bekoh hardware Shop
- 4 yard of sand and 2 yard granite @50 per yard Total RM300, delivery same afternoon
- Interviewed Orang Asli wife for family information & income
- husband age 33 (1977) wife 35(1975) with 5 children (2 sons & 3 daughters) - age 9,8,6,4 & 9mth
- monthly family income RM300.00 (potong kelapa sawit & kerja kampong)

4th Visit - 8-2-2010

Attendance: Bro Albert & Camon

- Site visit to view the construction progress
- ordered material via Bro. Lee Chok (PL Timber) last week, but not yet delivered
- Immediate call supplier to follow up and promise delivery latest by tomorrow

Shelter Project @ Orang Asli Settlement at BEKOK

We were invited by our Johor Sai Council President Bro. Govind on 16th January 2010 to join him and Bro.Hamish Ravindran and Bro. John to visit the Orang Asli Settlement situated at Bekok.

Our Team comprises of Bro. Camon, Tommy, Lee Choh and Bro. Albert. We are very humbled by what we saw ..... the dwelling of a Orang Asli Family which comprises of his wife and 4 childrens.

Bro Govind decided to take up the challenge to built a house 20'x30' with 3 rooms and a toilet. We shall be organising a sub-committe meeting to spearhead this project and wish to have the support of all members and well wishers.

From the picture enclosed..... we should also show to our childrens how lucky God have been treating us. However we should on our part do what we can for others who are in needs of our help.

Last but not the least, we would also like to tender our appreciation to Bro. Govind for giving us a chance to participate in this programme and to serve the needy.

與Bro Albert及几位Sai 姐弟们结伴上吉隆被, 只知会去观赏一部話剧 .哗!真是料不到参与比話剧的演员,大部份都是思菩提峇赞中文组的Sai兄弟姐妹们. 我蛮欣赏Sai 家庭的和睦相处之道,更羡慕这群同一信念的成员,中规中矩演好其角色 ,佩服佩服 .

小巧的金蓮赛姐演饰被儿子误解的母親, 面对儿子惡狠狠及无理恶劣的态度,在剧中把委屈心酸的情緒表达在歌曲中,使人感慨做妈妈对儿子的爱及无奈.

这位脾气暴躁的儿子Jeff(Bro Freddy Tan演饰) 面对失职,掛念失散的妹妺, 单親之怨愤,一股勁将之发洩在母親身上.歌里尽唱出愤愤不平心声, 处理手法倒是可圈可點呀!

演饰慈祥的外婆(Sis Vivian)进入孫子的梦中, 以稳勁的女低音唱着,开導,化解孫儿对其母的誤解……不得不敬佩Sis Vivian 演技不輸年輕人哦!

知心好友可是生活圈子里不缺的精神支柱.Jeff遇車祸時……好友丹尼(Bro Grey Ang演饰) 為Jeff奔走,担忧……哗!不難聽出渗透着焦急的唱腔, 不错呀!

失散得妹妺爱丽丝(Sis See Mei Zhi)怀着欢欣的心情出现在许愿樹下. 左顧右盼着親哥哥但迎来的却是丹尼 ……

当合唱团加入演唱時. 在观众席的我们,不由自主的在心理或輕声跟着唱 ……这种和谐共嗚只有在Sai家庭表露無遺哦.

思菩提峇赞中文组,你们的魅力不禁讓我高喊 “好,真好”再接再厲.

My Trip to Puttarparthi- A precious gift from Swami

Allow me to share my memorable trip to Puttarparthi to celebrate Wesak at Prashanti Nilayam this year 2009.

On May 5th 2009 , some Tangkak devotees , a small group of curious participants from Tangkak , my brother Bernard and I left for India .

This is my second visit to celebrate Wesak in the presence of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba . My first trip was 3 years ago , where we celebrated Wesak at Whitefield in India .

After my first trip , I had aspired to visit Prashanti Nilayam at Puttarparthi and I had my wish granted this year .

As the summer heat was soaring in India , we , the choir , were told that Wesak celebration would most likely be at Whitefield , as Whitefield being cooler in terms of weather . Two days before our departure to India , we received confirmation , that Bhagawan will be in Puttarparthi for Wesak . Incredible ! Imagine how delighted I was at the news .

Our group arrived at the Ashram in Puttarparthi in the early hours of daybreak on the 6th May 2009 . After having settled in our rooms , Sister Hiang Lan(my room-mate) and I got ready for the morning darshan . That evening our choir , made up of mainly devotees from Kuala Lumpur and a small member from Tangkak were called for an audition and we qualified to perform on Wesak day 9th May as scheduled . But on the 7th May , words came round in the afternoon , that we will have to sing on the 8th May afternoon and that is at the opening of the Wesak celebration .

On the 8th May , we sang to a huge crowd at the opening of Wesak . At the end of all the performances , Bhagawan came down from the dais to take photo with us . We were all so overjoyed by Bhagawan grace and Love .

On the 9th May , that is Wesak Day , celebrations continued with performances and activities . Some Tangkak devotees headed by Brother Albert Ong , were called upon to distribute food to the poor . After an early lunch , Sis Hiang Lan and I started packing in our room , as our Tangkak group was to leave for Bangalore that afternoon at 5.30 pm.

While we were packing , two ladies came to our room at the 3rd floor of the hostel . One was an Indian lady and the other was a European lady . The Indian lady asked if I was Buddhist when I asked if I could do anything for them . She also enquired where I was from and we discovered we were Malaysians . Then the European lady asked if I know who Karmapa is ? I told her that not only I know His Holiness , I had the opportunity to meet him in Bodhgaya in December of 2006 . The Indian lady turn to the European lady and said “ You have found the person .” Then the Indian lady left .

I invited the European lady into the room . She was dressed in a white sari with small flower designs and held a white plastic bag . She related that she had spent a year with Bhagawan and Bhagawan had asked her to visit North India . She continued that the chapter of her life here in Puttarparthi is coming to a close and she will be returning to Germany soon . She had asked for Bhagawan’s help (in her prayers, may be) to find someone to handover a few things .

Then she took out from the plastic bag some photos and posters of Taras , Karmapa , Ruipoches , some CDs and DVDs .

She told me that I can go through them and keep them if I wish . She then gave me a CD entitled , “ Lion’s Roar Great Compassion ” and told me to keep it .Then she took out a saffron silk cloth , saying that it is very precious . She unfolded the cloth and took out a photo of the Image of Lord Buddha Shakyamuni at the Maha Bodhi Temple in Bodhgaya . She handed the photo and silk cloth to me saying she knows I will treasure it . She said that the silk cloth was worn on the Buddha Image in the Maha Bodhi Temple . The Maha Bodhi Temple where the Image is photographed is the exact place when Lord Buddha attained unsurpassed , supreme Enlightenment . I was so overwhelmed but managed to thank her and did not know what else to say but we hugged each other and cried . She left immediately , leaving me standing in the room still stunned . Sister Hiang Lan immediately asked me to get her name . I only managed to get the first part of her name --- Maria , as she disappeared down the stairs .

Back in the room , I sat on the bed thinking --- This is unbelievable ! I knew it was all Bhagawan’s grace and Love . On this day , 9th May was also my husband’s birthday and this is a very precious and holy gift for him too.
